We just returned from a wonderful day with Gerrit. We visited the Kröller Müller Museum……a must see……and the park followed by an afternoon in Amersfoort. Gerrit was the best. Betsy and I want to thank you so much for making the ‘Grand Finale’ of our 2-week vacation truly Grand! Gerrit braved the King’s day crowds to pick us up at our hotel and whisk us out of town.
At the museum, our hearts soared as we viewed the Van Gogh paintings, some of which we’d never seen before in person or even in books. We enjoyed the park grounds, the sculpture garden, and outdoor restaurant before heading back to Amsterdam.
We enjoyed lively repartee during our ride back to the city, and Gerrit got us as close to our hotel as the King’s Day crowds and the barricades would allow, and we ended the day by having a willing stranger take pictures of the 3 of us for our memories.
We will never forget the fabulous end to our vacation. How lucky we were to stumble across such a prince of a gentleman who went above and beyond the extra mile and whom we now gratefully call our friend! Thanks again Gerrit!!!
