Hidden Holland’s Accessibility Statement

This is an accessibility statement from Hidden Holland.

I want this site to work for you whether you read it with a screen reader, navigate by keyboard, or need larger text and stronger contrast.

The standard I work toward

I use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 AA as my measuring stick. I do not claim full conformance. I claim work in progress, and this page keeps track of where that work stands.

What I have done so far

In 2026 I audited every page template on this site with Lighthouse, Google’s accessibility testing tool, and fixed what it found: stronger color contrast on buttons, headings, and rating stars; text alternatives for images and image-only links; and repaired page markup that confused screen readers.

After that work, this site scores 100 out of 100 on Lighthouse’s accessibility audit, on both mobile and desktop.

Known limitations

Not everything is fixed, and an automated score is not the whole story. Three things I know about today: a few page areas, like an article’s title strip, sit outside the landmark structure screen readers use to jump through a page; the hotel comparison cards on some articles need rework; and one third-party booking widget does not meet the standard I want, which I have raised with its supplier. This list shrinks as I work through it.
