The Kröller-Müller Museum is unlike any other museum in the Netherlands, it’s not in a city, but in the middle of a national park surrounded by nature. And that’s exactly why I recommend making the effort to visit it.
Getting there on your own can be complicated. But once you’re there, the setting becomes part of the visit and the museums location (home to the 2nd largest Van Gogh collection) makes immediate sense. This private tour is the easiest way to experience the Kröller-Müller without turning the journey into a project.

Betsy and I want to thank you so much for making the ‘Grand Finale’ of our 2-week vacation truly Grand! Gerrit braved the King’s day crowds to pick us up at our hotel and whisk us out of town.
At the museum, our hearts soared as we viewed the Van Gogh paintings, some of which we’d never seen before in person or even in books. We enjoyed the park grounds, the sculpture garden, and outdoor restaurant before heading back to Amsterdam.
We enjoyed lively repartee during our ride back to the city, and Gerrit got us as close to our hotel as the King’s Day crowds and the barricades would allow, and we ended the day by having a willing stranger take pictures of the 3 of us for our memories.

This option is for guests who mainly want to visit the museum, without turning the trip into a full tour day.

How Much Time Do You Need?
It really depends on what you would like to do. Here are my recommendations:
About 3 Hours (Standard Visit)
A standard visit includes up to 3 hours at the Kröller-Müller Museum and sculpture garden, which is enough for most guests to enjoy the collection and a quick introduction to the sculpture garden. This is included in the standard price.
It’s a good fit if:
- You mainly want to see the Van Gogh collection
- You’re comfortable keeping a steady pace
About 4 Hours (More Breathing Room)
Four hours gives you more time at the Sculpture garden and time for a relaxed lunch. It cost €100 extra to stay an extra hour. This allow you to:
- See the museum properly
- Spend real time in the sculpture garden
- Take breaks without watching the clock
If the museum is one of the main reason to visit the Netherlands. Choose this option. So you have plenty of time at the museum and we have time to see a little bit more of the national park.

Five Hours (The Full Experience)
You have time not only for the museum and sculpture garden, but also to enjoy Hoge Veluwe National Park itself:
- Riding the free white bikes
- Stopping at the visitor center and the nearby park museum
- Sitting down for a proper meal
- Visiting Jachthuis Sint Hubertus including a tour inside.

- 100% refund of all funds paid up to 60 days before your tour.
- 59 days to 7 days before your tour: you forfeit the 25% deposit.
- If you paid in full, you will receive a 75% refund.
- Within 7 days of the tour: no refunds. But when possible, I’m happy to help with re-booking to a new date or tour.
